Fred Willson’s Statement of Faith
This doctrinal statement is from the West Houston Bible Church, Houston, Texas, and with which I agree. Dr. Robert Dean, Jr., is its pastor. I have added one statement which I copied from the Jackson Hole Bible College doctrinal statement of faith on the subject of creation. § We believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Bible, that the Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God, and the exclusive and sufficient guide for salvation, doctrine, and the spiritual life of the believer. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21 § We believe in the Trinity, and their co-equality. Matthew 28:19 § We believe in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross as the unique, once and for all sacrifice for the personal sins of mankind. John 3:16 & 36; 2 Corinthians 5:21 § We believe that a person gains eternal salvation through faith alone in Christ alone. Acts 4:12 § We believe in eternal salvation and eternal security - "once saved, always saved." John 10:28-29 § We believe in the universal indwelling of the Holy Spirit in every believer at the moment of salvation. 1 Corinthians 6:19 § We believe in the depravity of man and his need for the personal savior, Jesus Christ. Acts 26:18 § We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave. 1 Corinthians 15:20 § We believe that we are in the dispensation of the Church Age, and are believer-priests. 1Peter 2: 5-9 § We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 § We believe in communion, prayer, Christian fellowship, and the teaching of sound doctrine. Acts 2:42 § We believe in separation from those groups, churches, and organizations which violate or teach against sound Biblical doctrines. Romans 16:17 As an addendum on the subject of creation, I consider it very important to present a consistent view of the authority of Scripture. In contradistinction to the teachings of evolution, I wish to make clear my understanding that the days of Genesis chapter one are literal, solar days, that the earth is young, that there was no death of animals or man prior to the intrusion of sin through Adam, and that the flood of Noah was a catastrophic, global event.
